POL-MAK among the top 35 per cent of companies assessed for sustainability. Our EcoVadis rating is higher than or equal to the score of 69 per cent of all companies assessed by EcoVadis.
 
The EcoVadis Medal is one of the most important international accolades in the field of sustainability assessment. Based on international standards, the EcoVadis assessment confirms that POL-MAK operates according to best practices in sustainability and ESG.

POL-MAK was awarded the title of Energy Transformation Leader 2024 for its multi-phase energy transformation from 2020 to 2023, which included a number of projects to improve energy efficiency, such as the replacement of lighting with energy-efficient lighting, the installation of renewable energy sources and heat pumps, and the implementation of advanced purchasing strategies for electricity and natural gas, among others. The company also actively participates in the Demand Side Response (DSR) programme, which supports the stabilisation of the operation of the energy system in Poland. 

The Energy Transformation Leaders competition aims to promote innovative and scalable solutions, products, technologies and services related to climate and environmental protection, as well as innovative projects capable of accelerating Poland's green transformation. The competition's jury includes the National Energy Conservation Agency and the National Centre for Research and Development. The competition accompanies the Polish Climate Congress, which takes place in Warsaw.

The production of napkins, plates and cups is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the BRC Consumer Products - Personal Care and Household Standard.
The BRC CP standard is one of the most popular and widely used standards for suppliers working with retail chains in the production of non-food products sold both under the manufacturer's own brand and under the customer's brand.

The FSC® Certificate of Chain of Custody (CoC), is designed for paper and timber entrepreneurs. This certificate proves that the raw materials used in the production process come from FSC-certified forests, and other controlled sources, and that the company follows FSC-defined practices throughout the production process and supply chain.

The FSC certificate requirements implemented at POL-MAK enable control of the flow of raw materials at each stage of the production chain, and as a result, the sale and labeling of products made from FSC®-certified and other controlled materials. Our company's products meet the requirements of origin control, which is confirmed by the FSC certificate.

The ISO 9001:2015-compliant Quality Management System for tissue paper production aims to ensure that customers' requirements are met and that the quality of manufactured products is continuously improved. ISO 9001 is an international standard that defines the requirements that a quality management system should meet. Implemented at POL-MAK, the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 certificate make it possible to conduct effective and efficient business activities to maintain market position and adapt to changing market conditions.

The Environmental Management System allows identifying environmental aspects and assessing the negative impact of the organization's activities on the environment. The ISO 14001:2015 certificate requirements implemented at POL-MAK for tissue paper production allow, among other things, systematic supervision of activities affecting the environment, faster detection and removal of any irregularities, lower consumption of raw materials, energy and materials, as well as reduction of generated pollution and waste.

The certificate issued by the PZH for a given product certifies its safety for human health and/or the environment, provided that it is used in accordance with its intended purpose and use.

POL-MAK products, when certain production conditions are guaranteed, meet the requirements of compostability and can be labeled:
„OK compost HOME S1253” – for napkins made from tissue paper and white plates. This is a certificate that confirms the compostability of the products at home.
„OK compost INDUSTRIAL S1253” – for Airlaid napkins. This certification confirms the compostability of the napkins under industrial conditions.
Certified products can be manufactured at POL-MAK's plants in Przeźmierowo, Batorowo and Iława. The reference point for "OK compost" certification is the harmonized standard EN 13432:2000 - Packaging - Requirements for packaging suitable for recovery by composting and biodegradation.
